My wife and daughter were going away for the weekend, so my son and I decided to it was a good time for roast porchetta and barbequed steaks. After a quick google search, I decided to give Mr Meats a go. They didn't have the size I wanted but even though he was super busy preparing some big orders, Jimmy happily made the time to freshly prepare a porchetta for me. Like a wizard, he quickly rolled up some pork fillets, sprinkled with his secret Greek herbs and spices. He also sliced up two thick scotch fillets for us. And to finish off, I couldn't resist throwing in a hunk of his homemade Polish sausage. Talk about delicious - the porchetta crackling was crispy and the pork juicy and tender. Easily the best porchetta I have had in Adelaide. And we had enough left-over to make hot porchetta rolls for the rest of the week. We cooked the scotch fillets the next night - they were also tender and juicy, cooked medium rare. And the Polish sausage didn't last very long. I can't recommend Mr Meats highly enough. I had a barbecue for my Probus Club. Jimmy supplied the lamb yiros and sausages. It was all superb. All members wanted to know where the meat came from. Jimmy is the old fashioned butcher. He should be treasured.
